Adjunct Grants Advisory Committee (AGAC) Participation Agreement

ADJUNCT GRANTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE PARTICPATION AGREEMENT

As a member of the Adjunct Grants Advisory Committee (AGAC) I hereby agree to the following:

1. Identify a non-profit (501 c 3) located in the area where I attend college or reside. The selected organization must align with The Barker Welfare Foundation (BWF) funding guidelines.
2. Once a non-profit has been identified, I will provide BWF staff with the name of the organization for approval. If approved, I will instruct the organization to contact the BWF staff to request an application.
3. I will review the application submitted by my selected organization and complete a written summary using the BWF “Proposal Summary” template. I will also conduct a site visit to the organization and provide a brief report on the experience.
4. I will read all other AGAC member Proposal Summaries and be prepared to actively participate in group discussions during scheduled meetings.
5. I will participate in at least one AGAC Zoom meeting per year to review designated grants and provide tentative approval recommendations. The date and time of the meeting will be coordinated with and approved by a BWF staff member.
6. I will attend The Barker Welfare Foundation Annual Meeting (May) each fiscal year to present my selected organization(s) for final approval. Attendance may be in-person or via Zoom.

AGAC members have the option to recommend:

  • One nonprofit to receive a single $5,000 grant, or
  • Two nonprofits, each receive a $25,000 grant
  • The total annual allocation per AGAC member will not exceed $5,000
  • Attendance at the Board Meeting is required for the grant(s) to be considered.

Board Meeting Notes:

  • Board meetings are typically held over two days (Friday and Saturday), but dates are subject to change at the discretion of BWF and directors.
  • Travel expenses will be covered by the Foundation

7. My participation in the AGAC will be evaluated annually by BWF staff.
